Update: Al Jazerra, Festivals 02-June-2007

We’re pleased to let you know that Al Jazerra is currently editing a 21-minute extract of Disarm – thanks to Bob Abeshouse for making this happen! Our distributor Janson Media is continuing to secure television broadcast deals for Disarm, but local requests always helps so if you’d like to try and get Disarmon to television in your country please get in touch with us.

Brian Liu is heading back to some of the film festivals we attended in 2006, but this time as a judge! This week 7-11 June he’ll be at the 4th Annual Jackson Hole Film Festival judging their Global Insight documentary category, for which Disarm picked up a Cowboy Award last year. He's been hanging out with Skye Fitzgerald, director of "Bombhunters" a documentary about UXO village deminers/scrapmetal scavengers in Cambodia. Then from 12-17 June, Brian is judging the music documentaries section of the prestigious Silverdocs Documentary Film Festivalin Silver Spring, Maryland.

Mary Wareham is still in New Zealand working with Oxfam on a range of advocacy issues relating to the Pacific. Mary's not engaged in any other film projects for the moment, but she's still working on weapons. She's organizing civil society support for a major diplomatic meeting to prohibit cluster munition duds that the New Zealand government will be holding in Wellington next February.

We're also finalizing the long-awaited DVD of Disarm and in negotiations with a distributor! The final DVD will contain the full length version of Disarm, the TV edit with multiple language translations, director's commentary, trailers and more!

That's it for this update. Thanks for your support!
